First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Children are required by the diocese of Pueblo to complete one full year of faith formation in order to receive the sacraments of first Reconciliation and first Holy Communion. Religious education, which begins when children are six years old or older, explores God's plan for humanity, including Tradition, Scripture and the teaching and doctrines of the Catholic Church. After completing religious education classes that run from fall to spring, children enter sacramental preparation classes the second year, which focus more heavily on the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, in order to complete their sacramental preparation. Children receive the indescribable grace conferred by these two sacraments in the spring of the second year. The sacrament of first Reconciliation is normally received during Lent, while first Holy Communion is received during the Easter season.

There is a 40.00 dollar fee per child per year, with a 100.00 maximum due per year per family, for religious education.

To register your children, please contact the office at 243-0209 and ask to speak with Carol Schneider.
